Facial Recognition Software.

What does it do?
Facial recognition software is a system that is able to grab single or multiple facial images from still, or moving sources - Scanners, CCTV systems etc. Once the image of a face has been grabbed from the image source, the software evaluates the image and then runs multiple comparisons against existing facial data.

It is capable of constant 24 hour vigilant monitoring - without the cost of a dedicated and skilled observer.

How does it do it?
The human face is like a fingerprint, each is unique. There are approximately 80 nodal points on the face and facial recognition systems only need between fourteen and twenty-two to create a facial map, this is done using biometrics. The facial map is then compressed to around eighty-four bytes and then processed either, for storage or matching. Because these systems use specific nodal points on the face to create the facial map, It
does not matter if the subject grows a beard, smiles or introduces make-up the system will still see through a disguise.
When Face2Cam is used in conjunction with these systems it is possible to provoke a subject to look towards the source of the sound emitted from the unit. This allows a full facial shot to be captured by the CCTV camera / recognition software and thus alert staff to a breach of security as well as capturing a usable image of the subject.

What is it used for and where?
These systems are being used anywhere there is a need for accurate and secure identification whether by way of confirmation against images held or the reverse.
This technology has the advantage of not needing voluntary participation from the subject.
