Industry Council Product Innovation Award at International Fire Expo 2001 Sound Alert Technology plc (“Sound
Alert”) is proud to announce that it has won the Fire Industry Council
(“FIC”) Product Innovation Award 2001. Their
victory was announced at the Fire Industry Dinner, held on the evening of
the 23rd May. The
International Fire Expo 2001, which ran at the NEC from 21st-24th May,
hosted the award and Sound Alert was unveiled to the public as the
awards’ recipients on the final day of the Exhibition. Sponsored
by BT and Red Care Intelligent Fire Alarm Signaling, the aim of the award
is to encourage and recognise higher standards of excellence and
innovation in fire protection. Sound
Alert were declared winners because their Localizer® technology was
deemed to be the most innovational product with good possibilities for
fire evacuation and safety. Despite their numerous awards in the past,
this is the first time that Sound Alert have been recognised by an award
from the Fire industry itself. Among
the companies beaten by Sound Alert to the award were Bosch Telecom, Fire
Technology Ltd, Hilti GB Ltd, Kentech Electronics and Hochiki Europe Ltd. The
winner was chosen by a panel of judges from respected companies in the
safety and engineering sectors. These
included Mr. Finleyson of British Aerospace, Mr. Coats of BP Amoco, leading
fire industry consultant Colin Todd and John Northey of Fire Safety
Engineering. Mike Lunch, Managing Director of Sound Alert, said: “We are delighted to accept this important and prestigious award. To be awarded it ahead of so many fine companies and to receive recognition of this kind from the Fire Industry is a testament to the continued efforts of Sound Alert to provide the very best in fire safety and protection.”
